True and False Disciples. (Tuesday, February 12, 2008 ) Matthew 7:21-23 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do the will of my father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day,'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?' Then i will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' Are our seats in heaven secure today? Are we doing the will of God or just being the kind of Christians who are only attending church or other church events just to let others see? Yes, it is not easy at times to follow the will of God, we will encounter difficulties at times such as obstacles or mockery from friends. I wonder how many of you experienced being mocked by your friends. Like, they'll say to you, 'you call yourself a christian when you go around bullying others or scolding vulgarities" Something like that. I've experienced this many times, and yup, I do scold myself at times when i encounter such problems. Back to my point, it is difficult to follow the will of God. But "Nothing is impossible to do with God who gives me strength." People tell me, "why can't i feel God giving me strength? I always feel so weak and God just always seems so far away." The issue here, i believe, is because we're unwilling to place our trust in God and allow him to be involved in every aspect of our lives. Many people have backslided from their faith. Like what is said in Revelations. People ask me, where is God? why can't i feel, see, or hear him? Is God even real?" Because of this fact that we can't feel, see or hear God physically, many people question the existence of God that in the end, give up their faith. Sometimes it is not how we feel God, but instead how we allow God to draw near to us, how we open up our hearts to him. Some people cry out to God but can't feel anything.
