God's will vs God's permissive will. (Wednesday, September 05, 2007 ) My pastor shared this some time ago and i dunno why i suddenly felt like sharing this too on the blog. I recall the incident of the 23 koreans being kidnapped in afganistan and smses went around like a chain telling ppl to pray for the koreans. Of course, i sent more than 20 sms to the other ppl on my list and some time later, i thought, you know, God must called them to afganistan for mission work. Since he called them to go, he must already have a plan and so if such an incident happen, God must have known it'll happen and he'll definitely be at work and will definitely do something great. Which also means, God send these koreans there by HIS WILL. But let's be careful of God's will vs God's permissive will. Sometimes, when we pray for a thing, let's not pray too persistently but beleive on God's will. However, if we pray too hard too, God will permit and hence give us what we asked. Yes, it'll be good for you at that point of time but you won't get to see the wonderful work God can do. So... Hope you get what i'm trying to say. shared with love by EZra:) 0 comments |
